Philosophy, as defined by Webster's Dictionary, is a belief (or system of beliefs) accepted as authoritative by some group or school, the rational investigation of questions about existence and knowledge and ethics or any personal belief about how to live or how to deal with a situation.

A great part of my philosophy on music education has been derived from musical experiences in my own life. These experiences have helped me to understand that music education should be guaranteed to every child, that music makes the ordinary extraordinary, that music offers students the opportunity for a safe hide-a-way from the stresses of life and a successful gateway into the real world, that music is a constant, and that music offers students a niche to fit into.

As with any musical philosophy, experiences are what make up the ideas and questions asked. Music makes these experiences memorable and allows a person such as myself to recall them and write them into a philosophy.  My music education was rewarding thus far and it is my hope that my personal philosophy
